We were very disappointed with the property. Looks nicer in photos, but there were a lot of sanitary issues. The master bath smelled terrible and made the bedroom smell as well. The bathrooms were very run down. The carpets really needed replacing as well. Not a place you want your young children running around in. One of the small beds in the master bedroom was broken.

The one positive for us was the balcony and wonderful view of the ocean!

We stay at Sea Colony every year the first week of September. After seeing the reviews from last year we almost didn't rent, but based on the pictures we decided to give it a go. This is a very nice unit....it needs some cleaning but again it is the end of the rental season. We LOVE the window that faces the ocean for that amazing breeze. You can see the whole town of Bethany from the balcony. For just the 2 of us (retired) this is perfect with plenty of space.

I disagree with the prior low review. In many ways, this is a nice unit with a beachy feel and good layout, but certain things really need to happen before we would feel the unit justifies our spending our money and vacation time there. We think that the unit needs some important updating during the off-season: new more functional shower heads to replace the worn out ones; making the bathroom caulking, trim, floorboards look like you are renting a clean unit; install carpeting that is not so institutional and something you enjoy living on for a week; the main sofa may be useful as a sofa bed (we didn't use it for that) but we found it uncomfortable to sit on for long. The box TVs are waaaay too old school for 2016 in our view; flat panels are a must.

The kitchen design and new quartz counters are very nice. The views of the beach and the town both were great and we enjoyed the balcony as well as the pool, etc. The parking location is under cover and right near the elevator lobby. The unit was quiet and well located.

We also had a furnace filter problem - but the Long & Foster office arranged to have it replaced right away which was great.

With some effort this could be a 5.
