Family owned and operated, three generation business, located in Bridgeville Delaware, a small town on the western side of Sussex County. The farm sits alongside Route 404, a very popular means of travel to some of our famous beaches: Lewes, Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany, Fenwick & Ocean City. William and Ellen Vanderwende purchased this farm in 1954, starting with six cows and $35. The farm has since grown to about 4,000 acres and 225 registered Holstein cows which are milked twice a day. The family has not only taken great pride in producing great quality milk, but also takes pride in being good stewards to the land. Among the many environmental practices are cover crop and nutrient management programs. They then decided to take their LOVE for both farming and the land, and venture into another business…. ICE CREAM!!
