Awe Inspiring East Coast Sunsets

Did you ever watch that iconic commercial where a young girl and her father are sitting on the beach, and the girl asks “Daddy, do you know why the sky is blue”? He responds that it is blue “to match her pretty eyes”. The young girl tells him he is wrong and provides the very scientific explanation of the sky’s blue color. It seems the colors of the sunset have many of us tricked as well. Did you know that the sunrise and the sunset actually scatter blue and violet light away from our eyes, which gives us the opportunity to see the many wonderful hues of the sunset?

It’s almost as if the colors of the sunset and sunrise are with us all day, and we just need a little magic to make them appear. Whatever the case, one thing is certain – the sunrise and the sunset both speak to our souls. That’s why we’ve put together this list of awe inspiring sunsets (and a few sunrises) to bring a little light to your life. We hope you enjoy!

… and Sunset

“At the beach, life is different. Time doesn’t move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides, and follow the sun.” – Sandy Gingras, Writer

What could be a better ending to a day spent on the boardwalk in Wildwood, NJ?

Cozying Up at Cape May

“Because there’s nothing more beautiful than the way the ocean refuses to stop kissing the shoreline, no matter how many times it’s sent away.” –  Sarah Kay, Writer
